Covid-19 – Keeping our customers and staff safe

Covid-19 has made the last few months incredibly challenging for everyone and we are delighted to be back working and offering high quality services to both our commercial and domestic customers.

We understand that a lot of people are still a bit nervous about having electrical work done, especially if that involves someone coming into your home or workplace.

The health and wellbeing of both our customers and staff is our highest priority, so we are keeping up with the latest public health and government guidance, and putting into place a number of measures to ensure everyone stays safe.

Below we have outlined what we will be doing to help avoid any more COVID-19 cases and to protect both our customers and staff.

Checks to keep everyone safe

Whether you’re a commercial or domestic customer, when you book an appointment for electrical services, we will ask you whether anyone in your home or workplace has had any COVID-19 symptoms or is in self-isolation. We will also check if anyone is shielding.

We appreciate that this can be an awkward conversation, but it’s important that we know the full facts so we can suggest the best option for you. In some cases, it might be better to wait to have non-urgent work completed once the COVID-19 pandemic is over, rather than take the risk.

We will also ask these questions again on the day of our visit, just to ensure that circumstances haven’t changed.

And for your peace of mind, if any of our electrical contractors have COVID-19 symptoms or if they live with someone who has, we will ask them to self-isolate for 14 days.

Health and safety measures for working in your home

All our local electricians will be fully briefed on current government and World Health Organization guidelines and will have a stock of hand sanitiser, disposable gloves, and cleaning wipes at their disposal.

All our electrical contractors will wash their hands before, during and after they do any electrical installation work and will then dry their hands on their own towel. They will also wear disposable gloves while they are on site in order to reduce the risk of transmitting coronavirus COVID-19 .

All surfaces will be thoroughly wiped down after they finish their work including any tools and equipment. All gloves and wipes will then be disposed of safely.

Our local electricians will also wear PPE and will keep the work area as well ventilated as possible.

Maintaining social distancing at all times

If we do any electrical work on your property, wherever possible we will be keeping to the social distancing guidelines. We recommend that you stay in a different room while we are on-site or if you would rather be in the same room, please try to remain at a safe distance away, which is currently 2 metres.

And don’t worry, we won’t be offended if you don’t shake hands or offer us a cup of tea, as your safety has to come first.

Booking a local electrician

If you do need to request a call out or would like a free quote, please get in touch. We are more than happy to discuss over the phone whether we should come out immediately or schedule an appointment for a few weeks time, when the number of coronavirus cases has dropped.

And if you do have any questions about our safety precautions or electrical services, please let us know. Stay safe.
